Abstract

Spectral confocal displacement sensors are high-precision measurement devices widely used in the measurement of various diaphragm materials, such as battery separators and optical films. This article will introduce the principles, methods, and applications of spectral confocal displacement sensors in diaphragm thickness measurement.

1.Principle

The working principle of spectral confocal displacement sensors is mainly based on optical confocal principle and spectral technology. The sensor consists of a light source, optical fibers, a spectrometer, and a detector. When light is projected onto the surface of the diaphragm through optical fibers, reflection and transmission occur. The reflected light is transmitted to the spectrometer through another optical fiber, while the transmitted light is directly transmitted to the detector. By spectrally analyzing the reflected light with the spectrometer, the intensity distribution of the reflected light can be obtained. At the same time, the detector measures the intensity distribution of the transmitted light. According to the optical confocal principle, by calculating and analyzing the intensity distributions of the reflected and transmitted light, the micro-topography and thickness information of the diaphragm surface can be derived.

2.Method

The measurement method for diaphragm thickness mainly includes experimental design, data acquisition, and processing steps. First, it is necessary to select the appropriate light source and optical fibers to ensure that the light can fully illuminate the diaphragm surface and collect reliable reflected and transmitted light signals. Secondly, according to the properties and characteristics of the diaphragm material, the appropriate measurement mode and parameters should be chosen to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results. During the data acquisition phase, the spectral confocal displacement sensor needs to be connected to a computer for data collection and storage through professional software. In the data processing phase, professional software is used to process and analyze the collected data, such as smoothing, filtering, and thickness calculation, to obtain the final diaphragm thickness measurement results. In addition, it should be noted that the properties and state of the diaphragm material will also affect the measurement results. For example, factors such as material transparency, absorbance, and refractive index will affect light transmission and reflection, thereby affecting the accuracy of the measurement results. Therefore, when measuring diaphragm thickness, these factors need to be fully considered and corresponding corrections and adjustments should be made.

3.Application

Spectral confocal displacement sensors have a wide range of application value in diaphragm thickness measurement. For example, in battery manufacturing, the thickness and quality of battery separators directly affect the performance and safety of batteries. By using spectral confocal displacement sensors for precise measurement of separator thickness, the quality in the battery manufacturing process can be effectively controlled, improving battery performance and safety. In addition, in the fields of optical films and flat panel displays, spectral confocal displacement sensors are also widely used in the measurement and quality control of diaphragm thickness. Compared with other types of sensors, spectral confocal displacement sensors have higher measurement accuracy and a wider range of applications, thus having a significant advantage.

Conclusion

This article introduces the application of spectral confocal displacement sensors in diaphragm thickness measurement. Based on the optical confocal principle and spectral technology, spectral confocal displacement sensors can achieve precise measurement of diaphragm thickness and are widely used in fields such as batteries, optical films, and flat panel displays. Compared with other types of sensors, spectral confocal displacement sensors have higher measurement accuracy and a wider range of applications, thus having a significant advantage. In terms of future development, there is still room for improvement for spectral confocal displacement sensors. For example, the measurement mode and parameters of the sensor can be further optimized to improve measurement accuracy and reliability; new spectral technologies and other related technologies can also be studied to enhance measurement sensitivity and resolution; in addition, the stability and adaptability of spectral confocal displacement sensors in special environments need to be strengthened to meet a wider range of application needs.
